Under the guidance of the college’s Party Committee and the executive departments, Department of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering forges ahead with solidarity and innovative spirit to deepen educational and teaching reforms and enhance teachers’ professional abilities and comprehensive qualities. Holding the concepts of being people-oriented and serving students first and foremost, the department gives a play to teamwork spirit and advances with times in an effort to demonstrate the characteristics of vocational and technical education and make talent cultivation of higher vocational education bear abundant fruits in a harmonious atmosphere.
Endeavoring to carry out teaching reforms and improve the quality of teaching, the department has been making its efforts to develop higher vocational majors to meet the demand of market. It has been holding fast to the concept of running school by combining work with study and striding on the way of making cooperation between schools and enterprises. The department has signed school-enterprise cooperation contracts with such large and medium-sized enterprises in and out of Guizhou as Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd., Guizhou Automobile Accessory Factory, Xianfeng Machine Tool Factory, China Zhenhua Group, Guizhou Branch of China Mobile, Nine Dragons Paper (Holdings) Limited, Guangdong Galanz Co., Ltd. and Guizhou Hisense Group, etc, so as to provide favorable conditions for students’ industrial attachment and work placement. The graduates of the department have generally been spoken highly of by employers. Every year, large and medium-sized enterprises in the province and in Yangtze and Pearl River Deltas are active in recruiting the graduates of the department. Therefore, the demand for these graduates exceeds the supply. Moreover, most of the graduates have become technical or managerial backbones in enterprises.
Currently, there are six higher vocational majors in the department, namely Mechatronics Technology, Electromechanical Equipment Maintenance and Management, Mobile Communications Technology, Electrical Automation Technology, Electronic Information Engineering Technology and Applied Electronic Technology.
